|“||Because they belong to a naturally - or rather, Ethereally - introverted species, Soxes shy away from spontaneous musical improvisations with fellow Monsters. After all, who knows what embarrassing sound could potentially escape from their tail holes? The Rare variant, however, puts its oversized ears to good use by experimenting with new harmony lines at such a low volume that only it can hear them. This little trick boosts its confidence, but it still needs to psych itself up for full scale performances.||”|
|~ In-game description|
Rare Sox has comically large ears (akin to that of a fennec fox) and long, silver horns. It has more crystal spikes on it's body than the the common Sox, and they are now magenta. It's eyes now resemble the eyes of a snake and are purple. The saxophone pads covering it's tail holes are now silver. It's overall color is green, rather than blue-green.
Rare Sox's song is the same as regular Sox.
Rare Sox can only be bred on Ethereal Island. And, like all other Rares, it is only available for breeding during short time periods announced in the game.
Possible combination(s) (common versions or Rare counterparts):
It can also be bred using a combination of a regular Sox and any other monster. When a Rare Sox is available, breeding it with a regular Sox is recommended.
Failed breeding results in a parent monster or Sox. It is assumed that the Rare Sox's chances of breeding are less than the common Sox's. It is unknown if any factors other than Wishing Torches might affect the chance of success, such as breeding using Rare parents.
Earning Rate and Maximum Income
Earning rate is in shards per hour and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness), also each monster has a limit to how much income it can hold at a time. Increasing the monster's level increases the limit.
Each monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the monster's level increases the coins earned per minute. The food per level is the same for all Ethereal monsters of the same element count and can be found in this article.
Every monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the monster (if not using a Unity Tree), the monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing two of the same liked item near a monster will still only increase happiness by 25%. Below are the things liked by Rare Sox:
See the Likes page to view a complete list of all monsters' likes.
Some items to take into consideration when designing your island by strategy are number of beds for the monster, rate of income per bed, max income per bed, and time for max income to be reached.
|Number of Beds||10|
|Rate of Income High||tba|
|Rate of Income Low||tba|
|Rate of Income per Bed High||tba|
|Rate of Income per Bed Low||tba|
|Max Income per Bed||tba|
|Time to Max Income @ High||tba|
|Time to Max Income @ Low||tba|
Like the common Sox, it's name is a combination of fox and sax (sort for saxophone).
