How does this Monster remain airborne with so many holes in its wings? Are those perforations the result of repeated run-ins with its own head spikes? Many questions swirl about this volitant being and the Rare Grumpyre finds it all very amusing. Or does it? Like the Common variety, this Monster's mood is difficult to interpret given its furrowed brow and fierce snarl. Oh, well - Shadow is as shadow does.
Monster Bio

Description[]

Rare Grumpyre is a Single-Element Rarethereal Monster. It was added on August 9th, 2016 during Version 1.4.3. As a Rare Monster, it is only available at select times. It is best obtained by breeding Deedge and a Triple-Element Monster. By default, its breeding time is 1 day, 21 hours, and 30 minutes long. Rare Grumpyre has a great Coin production on Cold Island that is bested by very few Monsters. It has a Coin rate between Rare Deedge and Epic Deedge.

Rare Grumpyre can either be teleported to Ethereal Island when fed to level 15, or bred there with any combination that would result in a Rare Grumpyre. It will take 12 hours, 38 minutes, and 15 seconds to breed. Like all Rare Single-Element Ethereals, Rare Grumpyre has excellent Shard production, bested only by Epic Monsters. Note that Rare Grumpyre has a slightly lower rate than Rare Reebro, Rare Jeeode, and Rare Humbug.

Breeding[]

Like all other Rares, Rare Grumpyre is only available for breeding during short time periods announced in the game.

Rare Grumpyre can be bred using a combination of a Deedge and one Triple-Element Monster. Possible combination(s):

Breeding on Ethereal Island[]

On Ethereal Island, breeding a Grumpyre with any other Monster can result in a Rare Grumpyre instead of a Common Grumpyre. Note that it is better to breed Grumpyre with another Single-Element Ethereal rather than a Double-Element Ethereal, as this gives less chance of getting a Double-Element Ethereal, which takes a long time to breed and incubate. Possible combinations:

Once a Rare Grumpyre is obtained, breeding it with a Common Grumpyre to get more Rare Grumpyres will avoid getting Single-Element or Double-Element Ethereals in the way, as long as Rare Grumpyre is still available.

Availability[]

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Grumpyre:

Statistics[]

Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]

Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Shards per hour and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.
