“ | A close relative of Smunkins, the Punkleton lays low for most of the year, with only its head poking above the soil. It is rumored to be the offspring of two Triple-Element Monsters. For a limited time, it will wrench itself out of the ground, and attempt to spook other Monsters with its boisterous song! It apparently works, and easily-startled neighbors would do well to give it a wide berth. | ” |

Description
Punkleton is a Core Seasonal Monster that celebrates the Spooktacle season and is found on Plant Island. It was added on October 23rd, 2012 during Version 1.0.4. As it is a Seasonal Monster, it is only available at certain times. It is best obtained by breeding Bowgart and T-Rox. By default, its breeding time is 18 hours long. Although Punkleton does not have good Coin production when collecting once per day, when collecting multiple times it can rival other Monsters such as Ethereals or Quad-Elements.
Punkleton can be teleported to Seasonal Shanty once fed to level 15. It has a low Coin production compared to other Monsters on Seasonal Shanty.
Song
Audio samples:
Fuller vocal (Memory Game; Plant Island):
Whispy vocal (Seasonal Shanty):
Voice actor: Dave Kerr (Plant and Gold), Unknown, possibly Matthew Stewart or Tom Meikle (Seasonal Shanty)
On Plant Island, Punkleton chants "Ooga, booga, ooga-booga" along with Shrubb in the first few verses of the song. It does not join in with Shrubb and other Monsters for the Island's big chorus. On Gold Island, Punkleton chants the same song as on Plant Island, but with a bit less reverb. It joins near the end of the song along with Cybop and Rare Wubbox.
On Seasonal Shanty, it has a quieter, whispy voice to fit the theme of Seasonal Shanty, and due to having a different voice actor. It joins in during a large majority of the middle part of the song and chants "Ooga booga, booga boo ga ga."
Breeding
Punkleton can only be bred for a limited time on Plant Island during the Spooktacle season or during an Out of Season event.
On Seasonal Shanty, the only way to get a Punkleton without already having another Punkleton on the island is through teleporting or buying it.
Any breeding combinations containing a Punkleton may fail, and give one of the parents as a result. However, breeding a Punkleton with an Aux. Seasonal is preferable, as it has a higher chance of getting another Punkleton than that of getting an Aux.:
- + Punkleton and Gobbleygourd
- + Punkleton and Clavavera
- + Punkleton and Viveine
- + Punkleton and Jam Boree
- + Punkleton and Carillong
- + Punkleton and Whiz-bang
- + Punkleton and Monculus
- + Punkleton and Ffidyll
- + Punkleton and Boo'qwurm
- + Punkleton and Spurrit
Out of these, Punkleton + Monculus is the best combination, as it has the lowest waiting time in case of not resulting in another Punkleton. Punkleton + Spurrit and Punkleton + Gobbleygourd are also good choices.
The Rare variant of any breeding Monster can be used instead of the Common variant.
However, on Seasonal Shanty, the best way of getting a duplicate Punkleton is by breeding a Common Punkleton with its Rare variant, with 100% chance of getting it if the Rare variant is not available:
- + Punkleton and Rare Punkleton
Availability
- For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability
Punkleton, like all Seasonals are only available during their own season, a weekend Out-of-Season event (6 months apart) and the Anniversary Month Celebration. It is also available to breed at any time on Seasonal Shanty.
NOTE: Punkleton can only be bred or purchased on Plant Island during the available dates. Any Punkletons on Plant Island or The Colossingum that are obtained during that time will stay unless they are sold. However, as stated before Punkleton can be bought or bred on Seasonal Shanty at any time, though it is discounted when it is available on other islands. It is also obtainable via weekly Scratch Tickets on Plant Island.
Likes
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Punkleton:
- Shrubb (requires level 9) ()
- Spooktacle Path (level 15) ()
- Tree Forte Tower (level 17)
- Smunkin Patch (level 11)
- Beeyoot Tree (level 8) ()

Statistics
Earning Rate and Maximum Income
Earning rate is in Coins per minute and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.
Feeding Monsters
Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

Egg Consumption
While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Punkleton eggs immediately instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Punkleton eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Also note that Seasonal Monsters, like Punkleton, cannot be zapped from Seasonal Shanty.

Notes
- Punkleton's name is a portmanteau of "punkin" (which is a colloquialism for "pumpkin") and "skeleton". However, the correct pronunciation of "Punkleton" is Punk-ul-ton, rather than Punk-leh-ton.
- Punkleton was the first Seasonal Monster introduced to the game.
- Because of this, it was the first Seasonal Monster to be available out of season.
- It was also, unsurprisingly, the first Seasonal in DoF.
- Punkleton is arguably one of the most sapient Monsters, with its body being a human-shaped skeleton.
- Despite being centered around fall, Punkleton actually dislikes cold air.[1]
- Punkleton has the lowest breeding time of any Seasonal Monster.
- Punkleton's bio used to say that is was "impossible to breed it with any other Monster", but with the release of Seasonal Shanty, it was changed to "This Monster, like all Seasonal Monsters, can only be bred on the Seasonal Shanty."
- The exact date of Punkleton being added to Gold Island is currently unknown.
