“ | The PomPom grows brilliant pink plumes by eating only foods that are red. The pelt may grow to be very long. While dancing and emitting its strident cry, the PomPom is an arresting sight. | ” |

Description[]
PomPom is a Triple-Element Monster that is first unlocked on Air Island. It was added on September 12th, 2012 during version 1.0.2. It is best obtained by breeding two Monsters that have the combined Elements of Earth, Cold, and Air. By default, its breeding time is 12 hours long. As a Triple-Elemental, PomPom does not have a high Coin production.
Song[]
Audio sample:
Voice actress: Maggie Park
PomPom's contribution to an island's song is a high-spirited cheer that adds to the melody, and differs by island:
- Air Island — Hey Nana, Hey Nana, Hey Nana, Hey Na, Hey, Low!
- Earth Island — Yippee Yay, Yippee Yo, Yippee Yay Yippee Yay Yippee Yo Do.
- Gold Island — Yippitie Yay, Yippitie Yay, Yippitie Yay; Yippitie Yay, Yippitie Yay, Yippitie Yo / Yo yo yo yo nana, yo yo yo yo yay.
- Shugabush Island - Gimmie Wop, Gimmie Wop, Gimmie Wop Gimmie Wop Gimmie Wop Wop.
- Composer Island --- Hey!
- Memory Game –– Low!
- On Tribal Island, it sings "Come on, let's go!" duetting with Congle.
Breeding[]
PomPom can be bred using Monsters that combine to provide all the elements of Air, Earth and Cold. Possible combinations:
- Of these, Pango + Noggin is the best combination, as failing and breeding a Noggin lets you retry the combo almost instantly. Drumpler+Tweedle is a close second, because it has low average times in case of failure.
PomPom can also be bred in breeding failures. Some combinations that result in a PomPom in a breeding failure include:
- + PomPom and Rare PomPom
(Best choice, 100% chance of a PomPom if Rare PomPom is unavailable)
- + PomPom and Riff
- + PomPom and Quarrister
(Good choice, 1% chance of a Reebro/Humbug)
- + PomPom and Noggin
(Good choice, slight chance of PomPom but Noggin takes 5 seconds)
On Shugabush Island, the PomPom must either be purchased with diamonds or teleported from any other island it is found on (not including Gold) once it reaches level 15.
Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by PomPom:
- Fwog (requires level 7) ()
- Dandidoo (level 9) ()
- Shugarock (level 9) ()
- Directions to Nowhere (level 9)
- Bottomless Pit (level 18)
- Toob (level 10) ()
See the Likes page to view a complete list of all Monsters' likes.

Statistics[]
Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]
Earning rate is in Coins per minute and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.
Feeding Monsters[]
Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

More info can be found in the Feeding article.
Egg Consumption[]
While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Wublins, Celestials, and Vessels can be used to "dispose of" PomPom eggs immediately instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Wublins, Celestials, and Vessels; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of PomPom eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Kayna's Vessel has no time limit, and its egg inventory cannot be reset. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month.

- The nickname choice of Buffy is a reference to the the Vampire Slayer film and TV series, where the titular character was a cheerleader.

Notes[]
- PomPom's name comes from the pompoms it holds in its hands.
- The pompoms may actually grow from its hands, hence the fact that its bio states it has brilliant pink plumes and that the pelt may grow to be very long. These are traits of the pompoms.
- PomPom's liking of red food is probably a reference to the South American bird Scarlet Ibis, which gets its bright red color from the red shrimps that compose its diet. The same is true of flamingos.
- PomPom is shown in the game My PomPom, released on November 12th, 2014.
- PomPom is the first Triple-Element Monster which can be brought to more than six Islands.
- Others now include Reedling (Fire Haven) and Congle (Fire Oasis).
- It is also the only Earth Element Monster that can teleport to Shugabush Island.
- Additionally, it is the only Natural Monster that can teleport to Shugabush Island that is not found on Cold Island.
- PomPom, along with Mammott, are the only monsters on Shugabush Island that do not play near the end verse.
- It originally played at that verse, but stopped playing there on an unknown date.
- Usually, PomPom's top row of teeth are hidden, but on Earth Island, PomPom occasionally shows a full smile.
- PomPom was the first ever Monster to speak English phrases.
- PomPom uses English words on Tribal Island ("Come on, let's go!"), rather than its normally obscure vocalizations on other islands. In My Singing Monsters: Dawn of Fire, it uses English words on the Continent ("Hey, everybody, hey, let's go!") and on Cloud Island ("Shake it to the left, shake it to the right" etc.).
- The "Yippie Yay" as heard from Earth Island appears in some of My Singing Monster's Facebook posts.
- Previously, it was unknown whether or not if PomPom's pompoms were attached to its hands, but this question was later answered by online sources. In this Facebook link, it shows a PomPom carrying a letter from Hoola, showing PomPom with a pompom as it holds the letter. However, in the game "My PomPom", the juggling mini-game shows PomPom with bare hands. However, during the Extra-Life 2021 Live Stream, Monster-Handler Matt confirmed that the pompoms are separate and that they have hands; which can be seen in the My Singing Monsters: Playground game.
- According to Rooba's description, these look-alikes are called "coif-calfed".
- Additionally, the pompoms are actually cushions used to keep PomPoms warms while their eggs are incubating. Once PomPom is born, it repurposes these cushions.[1]
- PomPom is one of only two Triple-Elemental Monsters to sing. The other is Congle, though it only does so on Tribal Island.
- A group of PomPoms is called a squad, which makes sense given the fact that PomPom is based on a cheerleader.
- In the games "My PomPom" and "My Singing Monsters Playground", PomPom has hands.
- In the discontinued spin-off "Jammer Splash", PomPom is referred to as she/her in its avatar description, although all monsters are genderless. The same thing occured with Whisp and Dandidoo.
- PomPom was the first member of The Pomily to be added to the game.
- PomPom's favorite foods include red velvet cake, vegan pepperoni pizza, and Bulba fruit pie.
- PomPom is the only mascot that cannot be first found on Plant Island, the very first island in the game.
- In MSMPokeGamer's online video call [link] with Dave Kerr and Maggie Park. Maggie Park, PomPom's voice actor, has stated that PomPom is her favorite Monster she has voiced.
- Similar to cheering, Maggie uses her "loudest outdoor shouting" voice to voice PomPom. In order to record for it or do it live with a mic, she either has to turn down the gain on the mic and/or step far away from it. Her husband, Dave Kerr, says that Maggie just uses her natural voice for PomPom.
- PomPom's third and fourth Tribal Island tracks have 40 beats when counting in 4/4 time, making them one of the few tracks with an amount of beats that is not a power of 2.
