Description[]
Phangler is a Double-Element Fire Monster that is first unlocked on either Fire Oasis, Psychic Island, or Bone Island. It was added on June 19th, 2019 during the 2.3.0 Fire Oasis update. It is best obtained by breeding Toe Jammer and Kayna. By default, its breeding time is 10 hours long. As a Double-Elemental, Phangler does not have a high Coin production.
On Amber Island, Phangler is only available at select times. When available, it is obtained by purchasing in the Market for 10 as a Vessel, which then can be revitalized by zapping eggs into it. As a Double-Elemental, Phangler does not have a high Relic production.
Song[]
Audio Sample:
Voice actor: Dave Kerr (Fire Oasis, Psychic Island, Bone Island), Unknown (Likely sampled from Psychic Island; Amber Island)
Phangler sounds a little similar to Dawn of Fire on the Continent. It sings "na" in a faster pace. It sings with Whaddle and Woolabee until the end of its part on Fire Oasis, with Kayna, Oaktopus, Rooba, Bonkers, and Rootitoot on Psychic Island, with Denchuhs, Peckidna, and Banjaw on Bone Island, and with only Kayna until Stogg can play for Phangler on Amber Island.
Breeding[]
Phangler is bred with the elements Water and Fire.
- + Toe Jammer and Kayna
Note that unlike Dawn of Fire, breeding Double Element Fire Monsters is not a guaranteed success.
If you already have a Phangler, these breeding combinations are more efficient.
- + Phangler and Rare Phangler
(Best choice, 100% chance of a Phangler if Rare Phangler is unavailable)
- + Phangler and Toe Jammer
(Good choice, if Toe Jammer eggs can be safely disposed of to Nursery, Wublin, Celestial, or Vessel)
(Good choice, very small chance of Gloptic/Plinkajou, can result in Epic Potbelly/Epic Noggin if available.)
Note: avoid using Phangler and Sneyser on Fire Oasis due to a higher chance of a Sneyser.
Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Phangler:
- Congle (requires level 7) ()
- Potbelly (level 9) ()
- Thrumble (level 9) ()
- Ziggurab (level 9) ()
- Sooza (level 9) ()
- Krillby (level 9) ()
- Candelavra (level 9) (,)
- Leafy Sea Dragon (level 16) (, , )
- Squeed Statue (level 16) (, , )
- Bass String Bridge (level 19) (,, , )
See the Likes page to view a complete list of all Monsters' likes.
Note: Phangler only likes Thrumble on Bone Island, and not on Amber Island. Also, on Amber Island, all of Phangler's likes are only obtainable for a limited time. Amber Vessels must be revitalized before they count towards Phangler's happiness.
Monsters Who Like It[]
The following Monster(s) will increase their happiness by 25% when being placed near Phangler or when Phangler and a Unity Tree are on the Island. These may or may not also be Phangler's likes as well:

- Thrumble (, )
- Yelmut ()
- Krillby ()
- Drummidary ()
- Rare Phangler
- Rare Barrb ()
- Rare Tring ()
- Epic Boskus ()
- Epic Sneyser (, )
Revitalizing[]
On Amber Island, Phangler must be powered up rather than being bred. Unlike Wublins and Celestials, the allotted time to fill a Vessel does not start when the first egg is zapped, but are instead are only available to purchase and fill at select times. The inventory must be completed in this time. When a purchased vessel is incomplete after the time, it will disappear and half of the relics spent will be given back. You will also get the option to revive Phangler by purchasing the missing eggs with Diamonds. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural Islands.

Filling In[]
Like other Monsters on Amber Island, Phangler can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 40. Phangler requires a total of 640 for all eggs to be filled.
Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.
Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Phangler's inventory. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.

Used in Breeding[]
Phangler is used in the following breeding combinations: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Statistics[]
Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]
Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.
Though the Relic Rate and Maximum is displayed in-game as a whole number value, internally these are decimal values. Where such values have been empirically found, they are provided in the table. When collecting from Phangler, you will only receive the whole number value generated.
Feeding Monsters[]
Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

More info can be found in the Feeding article.
Egg Consumption[]
While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Vessels can be used to "dispose of" Phangler eggs immediately instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Vessels; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Phangler eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs.

Notes[]
- Phangler's name is a portmanteau of the words "Microphone" and "Anglerfish". It might also come from the word "dangle", which is what its microphones do.
- Phangler was revealed to be reintroduced in the Fire Oasis reveal.
- Since the release of Amber Island, Phangler's animations are slightly messed up. One foot twitches on Oasis and the same foot changes positions instantly when it's not supposed to. It's especially noticeable on Fire Oasis and Psychic Island.
- Oddly, Phangler only likes Thrumble on Bone Island, despite it also being available on Amber Island. This is likely an error.
- However, this is not something exclusive to Phangler, as monsters like Shugabush, Rare Mammott, Rare Potbelly, Epic Mammott, and Epic Oaktopus have like items that, despite being available on the other islands they are present on, are only liked by them on Shugabush Island.
- Phangler has the ability to withdraw its legs, as seen in its Playground appearance and in the "A Trench in the Works" trailer.
- If you listen closely to Phangler on Bone Island, you can hear Whaddle and an old Noggin sound in the background, the latter of which has the same beat as Hawlo. And on Psychic Island, you can hear an old recording of Repatillo. The VST for this Repatillo sound seems to be a slightly edited version of "Chart Pop 03 - 115" from HALion's B-Box pack.
- Phangler is currently the only Double-Element Fire Monster to not have a costume.
- Phangler is currently the only Fire Monster on Fire Oasis to have not received its Epic variant yet.
- The part of Phangler's bio about booking it for Anniversary Month is inaccurate. Anniversary Month is celebrated on Gold Island, but Phangler cannot go there due to it being a Fire Monster, and no monsters with the Fire Element can exist on Gold Island.
