|Official Policy Page|
This page shows information about the official policies of My Singing Monsters Wiki. Please read this page to understand the dos and don'ts of behavior in this wiki.
Blocking, sometimes referred to as banning, is the act of preventing a user or users from editing the wiki. Only admins are allowed to block users, while any other user may be able to contact an admin to block a user. Blocks should be primarily used to prevent disruption to the wiki, rather than solely to "punish" a user. However, admins may use their discretion to how long the user should be blocked for and decide when and what to block from a user.
By default, blocking a user leads them not to be able to edit anything except their own message wall. However, blocking the user's message wall may be applied to when they are abusing their message wall, or if the user is a sockpuppet of another user.
Note: This page only guidelines the blocking times. Admins and bureaucrats are permitted to use their judgement to the length of blocking. Some may do longer than listed, some may do shorter. Some may do more warning and less blocking, some may simply do more blocking.
Below is a list of different reasons for blocking.
In general, you may get blocked if you don't follow Wheaton's Law – "Don't be a jerk".
Doing edits or contributions that appear deliberately abusive is considered vandalism. Attempting to do vandalism may result in a warning against vandalism. Repeat offenders may face 1-week block, then a 2-week block, then a 1-month block, then a 3-month block, then a 6-month block, a 1-year block, and even indefinitely. Admins may use their discretion to block longer if needed.
One exception is if the vandalism is deemed too damaging to be ambiguously vandalism. In this case, you may get immediately blocked.
Big Blue Bubble is strict on copyright, so don't abuse it. They need to make money to make all of your games running smoothly and more fun. Don't try to ruin their copyright by making their paid items free. We don't want to ruin the My Singing Monsters franchise, so don't ruin their copyright.
You may get warned against copyright issues. You may get up to 3 warnings before being blocked, fourth offense (after 4th warning) is at least 1 week. Repeat offenses may extend to 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and then indefinitely, in that order.
Friend Codes abuse
Attempting to abuse the rules listed on Friend Codes, Friend Codes (Dawn of Fire), or Tribe Contacts will get you blocked easily. The rules are explicitly written on the page, so do not abuse it; does not reading it make you dumb?
You will always get a first warning about pushing your friend code/tribe contact to the top without authorization. Repeat offenders can earn a block of 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and then indefinitely.
You will always get a warning for damaging the page. Repeat offenders can earn a block of 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and then indefinately.
Sometimes a user may have anti-social behavior, such as being purely closed-minded on their ideas or refusing to allow certain users to contribute purely because they just don't want them to contribute. In this case, you may get warned about it. Abusing it will get you blocked.
You will always be warned against anti-social behavior. First offense after a warning or two will guarantee a one-week block, regardless of admin decision. Further offenses will get you a longer block.
Attempting to abuse policy by making multiple accounts to repeat the abuse will lead you to get blocked further. The sockpuppet(s) will be blocked, while the sockmaster will have their block reset and have their block doubled in time.
