Welcome to My Singing Monsters: Dawn of Fire. Collect groovy monsters and listen to them sing!
Welcome message when playing for the first time.

My Singing Monsters: Dawn of Fire is the prequel game to My Singing Monsters. It was announced via Twitter and YouTube simultaneously. The iOS version of the game was released in Canada on 8th September 2015 and was released worldwide for iOS on September 23rd, 2015.  The Google Play Android version of the game was released on September 25th, 2015. The Amazon Kindle version of the game was released on November 21st, 2015, and the Amazon Appstore Android version was released on November 28th, 2015.

Differences from the original game

Overall Changes

  • The graphics are different, and so are the songs.
  • The Kayna monster can now breed. This also means Kayna is also a Natural Monster.
  • Monsters start off as babies but become adults when they are teleported to an Outer Island.
  • Some breeding combinations cause different outcomes.
  • Many new Structures are present.
  • The Market (the original game's Market) has been replaced by the Shop.
    • The Market is now the place where players can buy and sell products, rather than a place to buy monsters, decorations, etc.
  • The Storage has become the Vault where items can be stored.
  • Decorations are purely cosmetic, as the Happiness meter does not exist in this game.
  • The News button has been replaced by the Bulletin Board.
  • All basic in-game actions, such as buying a monster, or collecting food or other items, are more interactive because players need to manually drag items out of structures, instead of just clicking them.
  • Structures, Decor, Monsters, & Obstacles are now dynamic.
  • A new structure, the Mailbox, is where purchase receipts and news are received.
  • The game primarily requires Crafting Items to develop a player's Continent. Crystals, Polished Crystals, and Carved Crystals, which are all both a Crafting Item and a currency, are used for upgrading the Vault and production structures. Food and other items are used to fulfill requests given from monsters, which doing so rewards coins.

Productions

  • Unlike in the original game, monsters may ask for personalized treats, rather than simple Food.
  • There are many new structures involved in making various items, such as:
    • The Fruit Tree, which is unlocked at Level 1, can grow Apples, Coconuts, Lemons, and Acorns.
    • The Masher is used to make products that must be ground, such as Applesauce, Coconut Butter, and Sugar.
    • The Garden Patch can grow Grain, Sugar Cane, Smunkins, and other plants.
    • The Bakery returns but now does not simply produce the "food" currency anymore. You can bake Apple Tarts, Cookies, Smunkin Pie, and other Treats in it.
    • The Bog is used for collecting items such as Bamboo, Logs, and Rocks.
    • The Workshop makes things such as the Bamboo Flute and decorations such as Rock Garden and Apple Barrel.
    • The Jeweler structure, which is unlocked at Level 7, makes polished and carved versions of Crystals.
    • The Juicer structure, which is unlocked at Level 8, as is plainly stated, makes juice. Examples of Juices are Apple Juice and Coconut Milk.
    • The Ice Machine, which is unlocked at Level 11, makes Ice.
    • The Cooking Pot, which is unlocked at Level 13, can cook meals. You can get Coconut Cheese, Ice Cream, and others.
    • The Apothecary, which is unlocked at Level 17, is used to create medicine and equipment like Bandages.
    • The Skyship (introduced in Version 1.5.0) which is unlocked at Level 19, is used to fill in orders that require Crafting Items. Filling an order will earn coins and XP, but filling all orders of a single shipment order rewards a grand prize of diamonds if done within the 18-hour time limit.
    • The Weavers, which are unlocked at Level 20, can produce fabrics such as Cotton and Wool. You can even make rope in the Weavers.
    • The Candy Factory, which is unlocked at Level 22, is used to make sweets such as Candy Apple, and Amber Lollipop.
    • The Tailor, which is unlocked at Level 26, is used to make apparel such as sunglasses, scarfs, and earmuffs.  It also makes sewing needles.
    • The Toy Factory, which is unlocked at level 33 is used to make toys such as teddy bears, slingshots, and kites.

New Currency

  • Players can collect Crystals around the Continent and upgrade it with those. As the player reaches a higher level, they will have to save crystals to get special crystal items at the Jeweler Structure to upgrade or use diamonds.
  • Monsters might request items which are only obtainable via the Wondermine.
  • Baby monsters no longer produce coins. However, monsters in the Outer Islands can, although only one species each can produce coins. Coins are earned through giving monsters the food (and other items) they request. Coins may also be earned through completing goals, selling monsters, or selling products at the Market.
  • There is no mine to produce diamonds. Instead, monsters have a fairly small probability of finding them in the Wondermine. This is unless the player buys a Diamond Extractor, which instead of producing diamonds automatically, it requires coins to produce the selected amount of diamonds.

New Islands

Continent

Continent consists of five of the original natural islands together. They all share the same song, no matter where the monsters are placed, and monsters are unrestricted from moving to particular sections of Continent.

In the Continent, there are differences from the original My Singing Monsters game, including the different plants and monsters. On the Land that is now Air Island there are cacti on it instead of yucka trees, while on the Land that is now Earth Island all of the plants are still alive. The Land that is now Cold Island has trees that still have their leaves. The Plant Land is basically Plant Island from the first game.

Plant Land is unlocked when you first play, like in the first game, Cold Land is unlocked on Level 9, Air Land is unlocked on Level 19, Water Land is unlocked on Level 30 and Earth Island is unlocked on Level 41.

Outer Islands

Spaceisland

Space Island with adult monsters

In Dawn of Fire, there are 5 Outer Islands: Starhenge, Space Island, Cloud IslandCave Island, and Party Island. Monsters are teleported to the Outer Islands depending on their level, using the Teleporter structure, which cannot be moved. When the baby Monsters are teleported to the Outer Islands, they grow into adults.

  • Party Island has 15 Monsters to be placed and the Level requirement is 5.
  • Space Island has 18 Monsters to be placed and the Level requirement is 10.
  • Cloud Island has 17 Monsters to be placed and the Level requirement is 15.
  • Cave Island has 14 Monsters to be placed and the Level requirement is 20.
  • Starhenge has 12 monsters to be placed. The way you place them is to roll your daily roll to complete a constellation associated with a zodiac type monster. Upon completion, you unlock that monster to place on Starhenge.

More Outer Islands will be added in the future.

Music

  • All songs in Dawn of Fire seem not to follow a 140-beats-per-minute rhythm.
  • The Castle does not create or produce any bass sound when upgraded.
  • The opening music is an orchestral song. It doesn't seem to have any singing in it, unlike the theme song of the original, which seems as though it was sung in-game.

Other

  • Buying Monsters from the Shop does not require the Nursery; the Nursery only incubates eggs from the Breeding Structure.
  • If a player makes friends with you, your friends list does not necessarily contain that player; you must friend the player back in order to gain mutual friending. This does not happen in the original game; the original game automatically mutually friends both friends.
  • All Double-Element Monsters with the Water element, with exception of the Oaktopus (6 hours) require 8 hours to breed/incubate, unlike in the original game.
  • It is not possible to play with a Game Center account on two or more devices unless one of the devices are logged out. When the "This account is already logged in on another device" message pops up, pressing the "Kick Other Device" button will force quit any other still logged on to that Game Center account.
  • It is possible to have no monsters on Continent.

Monsters

"Dawn of Fire" includes the following the natural monsters from the first game:

Unlike the first game, Kayna now acts as another Natural Monster. This monster's Fire Element enables extra monsters to be bred that have never been seen before in the original My Singing Monsters game:

More monsters will be added in the future.

Monsters that are not currently in Dawn of Fire: (Please edit this list as monsters are added)

System Requirements

For iOS-based devices, at least iOS 7.0 is required. It is optimized for iPhone 5, iPad 3, iPod Touch 5 and iPad Mini 2. Dawn of Fire will not guarantee a good gaming experience with older models, and those devices include the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the iPad Mini 1. Although it never mentions optimization for iPad Air or iPad Air 2, they may be able to play Dawn of Fire still in a satisfactory interface. On devices that are not optimized but still compatible with Dawn of Fire may have, for example, unclean and unstable loading of content in the game, fewer frames per second, and a much slower run of the application than the players' satisfactory speed.

Notes

  • This game was featured on the App Store home page several days after its release. Link.
  • This game is a prequel to My Singing Monsters as it is set before the separation of the Fire element and the islands.
  • Many of the baby monsters are sitting down.
  • As of now, Level 50 is the Max Level.
  • Since the game is a prequel to its original, it is possible that all the Continents on Continent Island are stuck together, like Earth's continents was millions of years ago. Then over time, the Continent separated, and all the natural islands became as we know them today in My Singing Monsters.
  • Ever since Version 1.4.0, with the introduction of the Dandidoo, it is theoretically possible to breed every single natural monster from the original game. Before then, the Reedling could not have been theoretically bred.
  • The game My Singing Monsters: Dawn of Fire is also referred to as just Dawn of Fire, DoF, or MSM2.
  • It appears that with every major update (which are put out every 3 months up until version 1.19.0), one new fire-elemental monster and one monster from the original game is added. This trend started with Repatillo and Shellbeat for Version 1.3.0, Yelmut and Dandidoo for Version 1.4.0, Wynq and Thumpies for Version 1.5.0, Barrb and Pango for Version 1.6.0, Entbrat and Candelavra for Version 1.7.0, Clamble and Krillby for Version 1.8.0, Shrubb and Tring for Version 1.9.0, and Deedge and Sneyser for Version 1.10.0. Four major exceptions are Version 1.11.0 because Maw debuted by itself, Version 1.12.0 is when Edamimi debuted by itself although these two may be counterparts, Version 1.13.0 is when T-rox debuted by itself, and 1.14.0 is when Drummidary debuted by itself.
  • Congle, Shellbeat, Quarrister, Maw, Thumpies, Clamble and Deedge can be heard in the trailers of Dawn of Fire, even before they were even released.
  • Due to the new island Starhenge, with its special way it works, even the most successful player may not have all of its indigenous monsters for at least a year, seeing as one is associated with each month.
  • There are a total of 64 combinations of natural elements in DOF (64 species of natural monsters).
  • A total of 20 monsters have been added to the game since its initial release ( not counting Celestials ).
