The following article is about a concept or a previously planned feature. It was never obtainable in-game, and may never be.

The Mimic monster is an extremely unique monster among the rabble. They have three legs and they are surrounded by mysterious atmosphere. They contain luminous substance, so when they [sic] is danger, those substance lightens to protect Mimic.
Concept Monster Bio

Mimic was a scrapped concept Monster initially intended to be released in My Singing Monsters. It was later added to Dawn of Fire on September 20, 2023.

About[]

Mimic was first shown in Big Blue Bubble's Extra Life 2018 event on Twitch, where it was said to be a scrapped Quint Element. It was scrapped because the developers didn't think it was good enough for the game, along with the absence of an Island with all 5 Natural Elements and a Breeding Structure. The planned mechanic for the Monster was that the player could make its sound, a feature which was later changed into the Recording Studio.

It has appeared in the "The Sincerest Form of Flattery" trailer for Dawn of Fire as an obtainable monster voiced by Dave Kerr.

Sound[]

As a concept, Mimic would make any sound the player recorded. However, as of its addition to Dawn of Fire, it instead mimics other Monsters' vocals.

Notes[]

  • Mimic's name comes from the word "Mimic", meaning to imitate or copy someone. This is in reference to its old sound, which would've had to been recorded by the player, henceforth copying them.
  • It is unknown what island Mimic would be on, as none of the Islands in the base game, apart from Shugabush Island, have both Breeding Structures and all five Natural Elements at the same time (without considering monsters introduced via Fire Expansion on Fire Haven and the Magical Islands that aren't Magical Sanctum).
    • However, the Shugabush Island breeding system would not allow Mimic to be bred.
      • If it did, then the only possible combination would be Oaktopus + PomPom.
    • It is unknown whether Mimic would get its own island to breed, because Tribal Island, the Colossingum, Composer Island, and Gold Island are the only four islands to house all Natural Monsters, so Mimic may or may not go to one of them due to not having breeding structures. But Composer Island and the Colossingum do not have a set song to them, unlike the other two.
    • Since Fire Expansion though, it is possible that Mimic could come to an island in a similar way in the future.
  • A part of Mimic's old design was reused for Rare Clamble.
  • Mimic represents the element of Air, since it is based on a parrot. The rest of the Natural and Fire elements are represented by different Quints.
  • Mimic's color scheme may come from it being the culmination of the five Natural Elements, with Air, Plant, Earth, Water, and Cold as its elements representing the yellow, green, black, blue, and white colors on its body respectively.
  • If Mimic was intended to be breedable, then its best combination would be Deedge and Noggin. (Although it is unclear whether Deedge and Noggin would both be on the same island.)
  • The bio of Mimic is written in broken English because it was never finalized.
  • Some of its original concept nicknames were Mocky, Ekko, and Coppy.
    • Its original nicknames come from words:
      • Mocky comes from mock.
      • Ekko comes from echo.
      • Coppy comes from copy.
