Spooktacle is a Core Seasonal Event celebrated on Plant Island, and is an Element manifested by Punkleton. It is celebrated from early October to the beginning of November. It is also celebrated during a short-term Out of Season Event in late April, after the end of Eggs-Travaganza, and in a Time of the Season promotion during Anniversary Month.
During Spooktacle the following are available: Punkleton (and its Rare and Epic variants), Spooktacle-themed Costumes, Spooktacle-themed Decorations, Spooktacle-themed Obstacles, and the Seasonal Island Skin. There are also special sales and promotions, and sometimes new content is released.

Since 2012, Plant Island has changed appearance for the Spooktacle season. The appearance also changes the Island's Critters, ambient music, and Obstacles. Since 2023, it is a purchasable Island Skin with helpful boosts. It is available for 
1,250 or $5 USD, but a trial will also be available for free for the duration of the event.

Spooktacle Costume Series[]
Since 2012 Spooktacle Costumes were available as limited-appearances applied to all Monsters. During Spooktacle 2021, these legacy Costumes were reintroduced as permanent Costumes that could be bought or bred. Once obtained, they will stay on that particular Monster until it is sold. Each year, previous Costumes are made available, and sometimes new Costumes are introduced.

History[]
Below details the history of past Spooktacles. From 2012 to 2016, Spooktacle was simply known as the Halloween event.
Halloween 2012[]
The Halloween event started on Tuesday, October 23rd and ended on Wednesday, October 31st. Many Monsters on Plant Island received Halloween-themed Costumes that automatically changed the appearance of all Monsters throught the duration of the event.
Halloween 2013[]
The Halloween event started on Wednesday, October 9th and ended on Monday, November 4th. All costumes from 2012 were repeated, and for the first time, PomPom, a non-Plant Island Monster, receives a costume.
Halloween 2014[]
The Halloween event started on Thursday, October 16th and ended on Tuesday, November 4th. Costumes were repeated again, with some new ones, including a costume for Rare Furcorn. During the event, Rare Pummel and Rare Pango were discovered.
Halloween 2015[]
The Halloween event started on Thursday, October 15th and ended on Tuesday, November 3rd. New costumes were released.
Halloween 2016[]
The Halloween event started on Friday, October 14th and ended on Tuesday, November 1st. Some new costumes were added, and some reintroduced, such as Entbrat's Brat-wurst costume and Shrubb's clown costume. During the event Rare Punkleton was discovered on Plant Island, and Creepuscule was made available on Wublin Island.
Spooktacle 2017[]
Spooktacle started on Friday, October 20th and ended on Monday, November 6th. Towards the end of this event, Tawkerr was released on Cold Island. This also marks the first time the name Spooktacle is used.
Spooktacle 2018[]
Spooktacle started on Wednesday, October 17th and ended on Monday, November 5th. Animated seasonal decorations for Spooktacle were added, and towards the end of the event, Plixie was introduced.
Spooktacle 2019[]
Spooktacle started on Wednesday, October 16th and ended on Monday, November 4th. At the beginning of the event, the Epic Smunk-O-Lantern contest was held. In this contest, you had to predict the face of Epic Punkleton by drawing one of your own. After this contest, Epic Punkleton was released. Epic Riff was also introduced during this event.
Spooktacle 2020[]
Spooktacle started on Wednesday, October 14th and ended on Wednesday, November 4th. Strangely, the Island appearance and costumes for Monsters changed a few hours before the actual event started, which was at 3:00 PM EST. New costumes for Epics, Parlsona, Tawkerr, and G'joob were made. This event also coincided the release of Spytrap, Pluckbill, Rare Sooza, TooToo, and Bulbo on Light Island.
Spooktacle 2021[]
Spooktacle started on Wednesday, October 13th and ended on Monday, November 1st. Spooktacle kicked off with 30 seasonal Costumes that were made available as permanent additions for the first time, instead of limited-time appearances. The Seasonal Quest, Trick-or-Treat, was added to The Colossingum, along with the Mouth-Waterer Costume. Rare Punkleton and Epic Punkleton were also made available Seasonal Shanty. Later in the event, Clavavera, along with the new seasonal element, Beat Hereafter (
) were released to Seasonal Shanty. Rare Yuggler was also released at the same time.
Spooktacle 2022[]
Spooktacle started on Wednesday, October 12th and ended on Wednesday, November 2nd. Spooktacle started off with the release of the first Rare Mythical, Rare G'joob, and the Dreamythical, Cranchee. Amber Island's 8th wave was also released, featuring Tring and Rare Tring. The first Beat Hereafter was celebrated during this event, with Clavavera and the Dipsters going to Bone Island. Rare Withur was also introduced during this event.
Spooktacle 2023[]
Spooktacle started on Wednesday, October 18th and ended on Monday, November 6th. Epic Thrumble and Rare Gheegur were added at the start of this Spooktacle, alongside the brand new Spooktacle Island Skin. Later during the event, Rare Viveine and Epic Boodoo were released.

This promotion usually happens at the end of Spooktacle. During this promotion, all Plant Island Rares and Epics become available to buy or breed.
Note: The promotion name references the lyrics Tawkerr and Parlsona sing in the song.
Topsy-Turvy[]
Starting in 2019, Mirror Plant Island gets discounted by 50% one week before Spooktacle starts. Since 2021, the promotional image will also include a teaser for an upcoming costume during the event, such as Spritely Sheet. If there are no new costumes that will be added in the event, the promotional image will show a returning one instead.
Plasmaniacs[]
This promotion was started in Spooktacle 2021 and has happened every year since then. During this promotion, all Plasma Element Rarethereals become available to buy or breed.
Dressed to Thrill[]
This promotion was started in Spooktacle 2021. During this promotion, all Rares and Epics with Spooktacle Series Costumes become available to buy or breed. There is a chance to breed a Rare or Epic already wearing a Spooktacle costume. This promotion includes Rare Noggin, Rare Furcorn, Rare Bowgart, Epic Toe Jammer, and Epic T-Rox. This promotion also likely includes Epic Thumpies, but it has not happened since the release of the BoOoo & YucKLeS costume.
Scared Silly[]
This promotion was started in Spooktacle 2017. During this promotion, Rare Ghazt, Rare Grumpyre, Rare Whisp, and Rare Boodoo become available to buy or breed. This promotion was updated in 2023 to include Epic Ghazt, Epic Grumpyre, Epic Whisp, and Epic Boodoo.
A Note Becomes A Monster[]
During this promotion, Plant Island Werdos are discounted by 50%.

- Spooktacle is the only Seasonal Event which changes the Critters on the island.
- Spooktacle was the last Core Seasonal Event to get a Seasonal Skin.
- Spooktacle and Beat Hereafter are the only Seasonal Events to always overlap.
- This is because, in the Human World, Halloween/All Hallows Eve and Day of the Dead (in Spanish=dia de los Muertos) only have a 1 or 2 day difference.
- Crescendo Moon and Season of Love can also overlap, but unlike Spooktacle and Beat Hereafter, this varies from year to year and doesn't always happen.
- Spooktacle and Beat Hereafter are also the first seasonal events to start at the same month, the second was Cloverspell/Echoes of Eco and Eggs-Travaganza and the third was Life-Formula and SkyPainting.
- This is because, in the Human World, Halloween/All Hallows Eve and Day of the Dead (in Spanish=dia de los Muertos) only have a 1 or 2 day difference.
- Yearly, on Halloween/All Hallows Eve (October 31), players will be awarded with Diamonds. The amount of Diamonds varies from year to year.
