- This article is about the Monsters of My Singing Monsters. For the Monsters of My Singing Monsters: Dawn of Fire, see Monsters (Dawn of Fire).
The heart of My Singing Monsters is, of course, the monsters themselves! So far, as of now, there are currently 113 known monsters to buy or breed, excluding the monsters from Dawn of Fire. Each of these creatures has a distinctive voice or sound that they contribute to the various songs you will find in the game. As you collect the many monsters of MSM, they can be muted and unmuted in order to create a unique mix. You can also purchase a Time Machine to speed up or slow down the tempo, or a Recording Studio to change the voices of monsters entirely.
According to Big Blue Bubble, there are 30+ unique regular monsters.
The full list of monsters is below, including which Island(s) they are available on. Alternately, the monsters available on a given island can be found on the respective Island pages: Plant Island, Cold Island, Air Island, Water Island, Earth Island, Gold Island, Ethereal Island ,Shugabush Island, Tribal Island and Wublin Island.
My Singing Monsters is published in multiple languages. A table of translations can be found here.
The icons of each monster can be found here.
Natural monsters are the basic creatures you will encounter in My Singing Monsters. Each one is associated with one or more of the five base Elements: Plant, Cold, Air, Water, Earth. Only four out of five of these elements will appear in most Islands, with some exceptions depending on Island.
Another natural element, Fire, of which its class can be discovered in the sequel game to My Singing Monsters, is only found in Tribal Island and is manifested with the Kayna. It cannot be bred in My Singing Monsters, unlike most monsters.

Main Article: Triple Element Monsters
These monsters can be bred from one single-element monster and one double-element monster.
Monsters of this kind are slightly more difficult to breed. There can be a few breeding failures but this category is not as hard to breed as some types of monsters. Note that if you breed one of these monsters with a four-element monster, you'll always get the three-element monster as a result except in the rare case that you get an Ethereal monster.

Main Article: Quad Element Monsters
These monsters can be bred from one single-element monster and one triple-element monster, or from two double-element monsters.
Because of the complexity of these monster elements, it is difficult to successfully breed these monsters. It is believed that a triple-element monster and a single-element monster is the kind of combination that has the best chance of success.

Main Article: Ethereal Monsters
Ethereal monsters are a special class of monster, with their own unique qualities and their own Island. Each one is associated with one or more of the five ethereal elements: Plasma, Shadow, Mech, Crystal, or Poison. The one-element ethereal monsters are hard to get, since there is only about a 1% chance per try of breeding them. It is also very difficult to successfully breed two-element ethereal monsters on Ethereal Island. Like natural monsters, each parent gives a certain element in the gene pool for the "child", which only works in Ethereal Island.

Main Article: Legendary Monsters
Legendary monsters are a special class of monster, with their own unique qualities; for example, each has its own special guitar or drums and a special hat. Like the Ethereal monsters, they also have their own Island. These monsters must be bred from a Shugabush (apart from the Shugabush itself), which is very hard to breed. They are still not as hard to get as the Ethereal monsters.

Main Article: Supernatural Monsters
There are only 8 Supernatural monsters, the Wubbox and the Wublins, and one element, Electricity. The Wubbox and Wublins do not follow the same rules as other monsters -- they must be activated by placing other monsters inside them. They can't be bred; they must be bought in the market.

Main Article: Seasonal Monsters
Seasonal monsters are limited time monsters, they are only available to buy or breed during specific times of the year. These monsters are considered as hard to get as quad element monsters as well as only being available once per year. If you are lucky enough, you might be able to get them through the scratch egg ticket available in the nursery once a week.
These monsters were once called "Limited Time Monsters", then "Special Edition Monsters". As of the v1.2.5 update, the developers changed the class from "Special Edition" to "Seasonal" in their information.

Dipsters are special types of monster than can be bought using keys. These monsters do not take any beds and can be bought in any Natural Island (i.e. Plant, Cold, Air, Water and Earth Islands) for a certain amount of keys. For more information on Dipsters, please see the Dipsters subcategory.
Main Article: Breeding
With the exception of the Single Element Natural Monsters and the Wubbox (which are all purchased from the Market with ), every other monster in the game is obtainable through breeding.
- The Breeding page contains a quick reference for breeding monsters.
- Visit the Breeding Structure page for some discussion of which combination is "best".
- When choosing which monsters to breed, it does not matter which monster is on the left or right column.
Main Article: Eggs
Each monster has its own unique Egg, so even in egg form it can be identified. The rares share the same egg look as their regular counterpart.
Main Article: Feeding
A monster's level increases every four meals it is fed, up to a maximum of fifteen levels. (Food can be made in a Bakery.) When a monster's level increases, so does the amount of coins it earns per min, the maximum amount of coins it can hold, and the amount of food necessary for each of its meals. It also gets bigger, within its space(s) on the island, at levels 4, 10, and 15. At level 4, it can be used for breeding. Reaching level 15 will allow a monster to be placed on Gold Island, or sent to Ethereal Island or Shugabush Island, depending on the monster.
Main Article: Likes
Every monster has at least four different things that they like on each island. For every unique object that they like that's placed near them, that monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing two of the same item near a monster will still only increase happiness by 25%. How quickly monsters earn coins is based on their Happiness.
Normally, for something to increase a monster's happiness, the two objects must be placed side by side. However, purchasing a Unity Tree from the market (available at level 16) will allow you place decorations and monsters anywhere you like on islands, including into Storage or a Hotel, without affecting the monster's happiness level.
