|“||Under twinkling stars in a crystalline sky, swept by freezing winds, Cold Island is a bleak and lonely destination. No worries; the arrival of Monsters will create a lively winter festival!||”|
Since it lacks the Earth element, no monster with that element can exist on Cold Island.

Rocks and Trees
Main Article: Obstacles
Removing the rocks and trees from the island earns you Experience and opens up space to place more Monsters, Decorations, or Structures. Removed obstacles are gone permanently, there is no way to get them back. However, the 1.3.2 update allows decorations to be bought as decorations, using diamonds.
Main Article: Special Occasions
During the holiday season of Christmas, Cold Island is adorned with Christmas decorations. As part of the Christmas celebration all obstacles are changed to seasonal versions. Several monsters also dress up in costume for the duration of the holiday.
- For 2012, the Christmas season was from December 5th to January 2nd
- For 2013, the Christmas season was from December 10th to January 6th
- For 2014, the Christmas season started from December 5th and ended on January 5th

|Yool - the limited time monster was added.|
|The Thumpies were the first to dress up. Or was it change color? That's right, rather than wear something, the Thumpies changed their color to white. The flora they bounced on was given some festive snow and lights. (Updated 18th December, 2012)|
|The Pango dressed itself in earmuffs, and mittens, and its scarf gained stripes. It still seemed rather cold, though. (Updated18th Decmber, 2012)|
|Next, it was the Dandidoo's turn, with a neck warmer and hat. (Updated19th December, 2012)|
|The Deedge dressed up with a Russian feel on the 20th of December, 2012. Its speakers were changed to have a Christmas tree on them.|
|The Spunge donned a copy of Cousin Eddie's semi-see-through sweater and accidentally-visibly-fake turtle-neck from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (updated 21st December, 2012). The Spunge did NOT don this costume during the 2014 Christmas season.|
|The Bowgart put on another costume, the second this year, after Halloween. This time, on the 21st of December, 2012, the Bowgart put on a double-headed green elf hat (or is it a Jester's cap?). Also, he switched his instrument out for a green one (specially tuned for the winter cold) complete with a winter snowflake.|
Gotta keep warm! On the 21st of December, 2012, the Furcorn put on warm red-and-white-striped socks to cover his bare feet. Also, he changed his leaf to a sprig of holly.
|On December 12th 2014, the Mammott decided to dress up as Santa. Ho ho!|
|On December 15th 2014, the Scups became Rudolf the Red-nose Scups, dear. Note that the Scups does not appear in Cold Island. In iOS, The Christmas Scups appeared much later.|
|In December 2014, the Potbelly decided to play Santa too. "He had a broad face, and a little round belly /|
That shook when he laugh'd, like a bowl full of jelly..."
|On December 15th 2014, the Rare Furcorn dressed with a red bow and red-and-white-striped socks.|
|On December 18th 2014, the Rare Thumpies decided to be like the other Thumpies for the holidays. Well, sort of like them (certainly their springboards). The zombie one went white with blue eyes and worms, and the other was red pierced with a green-and-white candy cane instead of a pencil.|
|On 23rd December 2014, the Rare Pango wore red earmuffs and large red mittens. However, they still do not have any scarf. Their mittens are extremely long, to cover their long arms and talons.|
The Cold Island song is available on iTunes for download.
Main Article: Castle
To be placed on an island, each monster requires a specific number of beds. For Natural monsters, this is equal to the number of elements that monster represents. Ethereal, Legendary, Supernatural and Seasonal Monsters each have varied bed requirements. Upgrade the Castle to unlock more beds.

While the song of the island is crucial, users may also want to use some of these numbers to help with planning which monsters to feed first and make 100% happy first, as well as plan frequency of coin collection. The numbers below are as follows:
|Rate||Rate of income per bed at level 15 and at 100% happy|
|Max||Maximum income per bed at level 15|
|Time||Time to maximum income at level 15 and at 100% happy|
It should be noted that Rate is half for 0% happy, and Time is doubled for 0% happy.
