My Singing Monsters

The playful Blabbit shares a common ancestor with the Reedling, and developed an equally eccentric adaptation for breathing - blowing bubbles! As it releases the bubbles, it makes an adorable trilling sound which endears it to the other Monsters. This is lucky for the Blabbit, because it also has a reputation for being a bit of a nuisance when it 'borrows' Monster eggs to paint and hide all over the place.
Monster Bio

Description[]

Blabbit is a Seasonal Monster that celebrates the Eggs-Travaganza season and is found on Water Island. It was added on March 14th, 2013 during Version 1.1.4. As a Seasonal Monster, it is only available at certain times. It is best obtained by breeding Spunge and Scups. By default, its breeding time is 19 hours long. Although Blabbit does not have good Coin production when collecting once per day, when collecting multiple times it can rival other Monsters such as Ethereals or Quad-Element Monsters.

Blabbit can be teleported to Seasonal Shanty once fed to level 15. It has a decent Coin production compared to other Monsters on Seasonal Shanty.

Song[]

Audio sample:

Voice actor: Dave Kerr (Pre-Shanty), Unknown (likely Tom Meikle; Shanty)

Blabbit makes a soft burbling sound and blows bubbles out of its mouth while doing so.

Breeding[]

On Water Island, Blabbit can only be bred for a limited time during the Eggs-Travaganza event or Out of Season promotions:

On Seasonal Shanty, the only way to get a Blabbit without already having another Blabbit on the island is through teleporting.

Any breeding combinations containing a Blabbit may fail, and give one of the parents as a result. However, breeding a Blabbit with an Aux. Seasonal is preferable, as it has a higher chance of getting another Blabbit than that of getting an Aux.:

Out of these, Blabbit + Monculus is the best combination, as it has the lowest waiting time in case of not resulting in another Blabbit. Blabbit + Spurrit and Blabbit + Gobbleygourd are also good choices.

The Rare variant of any breeding Monster can be used instead of the Common variant.

However, on Seasonal Shanty, the best way of getting a duplicate Blabbit is by breeding a Common Blabbit with its Rare variant, with 100% chance of getting it if the Rare variant is not available:

Availability[]

For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability

Blabbit, like all Seasonals are only available during their own season, a weekend Out-of-Season event (6 months apart) and the Anniversary Month Celebration. It is also available to breed at any time on Seasonal Shanty.

Note: Blabbit can only be bred or purchased during the available dates. Any Blabbits on Water Island or The Colossingum that are obtained during that time will stay unless they are sold. However, Blabbit can be bought or bred on Seasonal Shanty at any time, though it is discounted when it is available on other islands. It is also obtainable via weekly Scratch Tickets on Water Island.

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Blabbit:

Monsters Who Like It[]

The following Monster(s) will increase their happiness by 25% when being placed near Blabbit or when Blabbit and a Unity Tree are on the Island. These may or may not also be Blabbit's likes as well:

Notes[]

  • Blabbit's name comes from "blowing bubbles" and "rabbit". As well, to "blabber" means to talk too much or to talk foolishly.
  • Blabbit was the last Core Seasonal Monster to be used for a breeding combination on Seasonal Shanty for a new Seasonal Monster.
  • The way Blabbit likes stealing and hiding eggs according to the bio is based on the Easter Bunny.
  • Blabbit seems to have heterochromia. This makes it the first Monster to have that condition, the second being Rare Toe Jammer, the third being Barrb, the fourth being Jam Boree, and the fifth being Adult Scaratar.
  • There was an odd juxtaposition in the opening screen which showed the Eggs-Travaganza background, resulting in the top part of Mammott being combined with the bottom part of Blabbit. This has been known to happen during other loading screens as well.
  • Blabbit's tail is actually its egg turned left 90°.
  • On March 2016, a contest was held titled Blabbit's Scroll, in which players from around the world received pieces of a map. When put together, the map revealed Wublin Island. Blabbit's Scroll was also teased in a Login Screen.
  • Blabbit's Out of Season typically happens during Anniversary Month in September.
  • Before November 9th, 2022, it was possible to breed Blabbit on Seasonal Shanty using any combination of 2 Aux. Seasonals.
  • On July 30, 2023, Dave Kerr, the creator of My Singing Monsters, made a behind-the-scenes video about Blabbit's sound.[1]
